"Sarah Secoy came into our lives when we were in absolute crisis, on referral from the DSPL.  Sarah was a total life saver, as we were dealing with a very late diagnosis of ADHD for our daughter at age 15 going into year 11.  We were desperately trying to come to terms with what ADHD was and also deal with an increasingly volatile daughter and family dynamic.  Sarah gave me the tools to help during 8 in-person sessions, with practical tips and strategies to understand ADHD and how to improve our family life. Sarah is a great listener, is empathetic and very knowledgeable on ADHD and all the associated issues. Sarah is an excellent coach and built a good rapport with me very quickly.  She didn’t judge me, but listened, challenged and offered advice and solutions. Sarah was also able to support me and the school with doing an observation and report on Emma which picked up certain areas where the school could improve to assist Emma in the classroom and also to really understand her educational, emotional and social issues. We were so fortunate to be able to access this invaluable help and support.

Sarah carried out two discreet classroom observation and the transition between classes for my child. She also did some pre-screening tests to help identify barriers to learning.  This has been invaluable with helping me understand what my child’s barriers to learning are and imperative to implementing strategies to support her.  The reports are comprehensive and helped to secure a formal diagnosis and encouraged me to apply for and EHCP.  I cannot recommend Sarah highly enough.  Discreet, thorough and supportive.  Excellent service giving school and me a far deeper understanding of what my child’s needs are.

Sarah's work with our family offered us so much invaluable support over a period of several months after our son was diagnosed with Autism and subsequently ADHD. She was a fantastic coach - very understanding, easy to talk openly to and extremely knowledgeable on all sorts of issues from how to reduce anxiety and improve behaviours at home, to how to explain problems to the teaching staff and get support in the classroom. By talking to Sarah, she also made us realise that our daughter probably had special needs too (which we now know she had masked for years). Sarah's observational baseline assessment proved fascinating and so useful for us and school staff. Sarah was great at making the children feel at ease when working with them.
